MSAP155-C

Overview
The Shan Shui Guang Dian MSAP155-C is the latest-generation MSAP multi-service access platform built on an SDH/MSTP architecture. It features a 19-inch, 6U chassis with 18 slots—12 of which are dedicated to service modules. Specifically designed for the metropolitan area network (MAN) access layer, this device efficiently handles both traditional TDM services and Ethernet data traffic. The equipment can be flexibly configured with varying numbers and types of service cards depending on deployment requirements, making expansion, upgrades, and maintenance exceptionally convenient. Available service card options include SDH optical line cards, PDH optical line cards, protocol conversion cards, and Ethernet switching cards. At the remote end, the system supports interfaces such as E1, V.35, FX optical ports, and Ethernet interfaces, addressing common challenges like excessive cabling, complex installation processes, higher failure rates, elevated maintenance costs, and difficulties in network management. By integrating transmission and access functionalities into a single, unified management framework, the MSAP155-C significantly reduces both network deployment and ongoing operational expenses.
Key Features
Rich input and output ports
● SDH provides an STM-N upstream port, enabling seamless connectivity between the access network and the metropolitan area network;
● The ETHERNET upper-level interface supports GE interfaces, which should accommodate both electrical and optical port configurations.
● Highly integrated on the business side, supporting the ability to mix and match multiple business board cards.
Protection mechanism
● Power protection supports 1+1 redundant protection for the power module and features hot-swappable capability;
● Supports SDH ring network protection (SNCP) and 1+1 linear multiplex section protection functionality;
● GE group port supports 1+1 redundancy protection; it also supports cross-port LAG (Link Aggregation Group) protection for Ethernet GE links.
Business Capability
● Supports dual-core business boards, enabling Ethernet services to be accessed either via the EOS method through the SDH backplane—or directly upstream to the Ethernet core network, depending on configuration.
● Supports EOS Ethernet access, compliant with standard Ethernet encapsulation protocols (GFP/LAPS) and mapping protocols (Virtual Concatenation/LCAS), enabling interoperability with MSTP equipment from different manufacturers.
● Offers multiple networking topologies: point-to-point, linear, ring, star, and ring-branch networks;
Unified management capabilities
● Through the XVIEW transport network subnet-level management system, users can perform configuration, maintenance, and monitoring operations on devices and the networks they comprise;
● Provides an NMS network management interface, offering the five core functions recommended by ITU-T: configuration, alarm management, performance monitoring, maintenance, and security.
● Provides equipment ambient temperature monitoring, enabling real-time temperature control of fan operation—automatically turning fans on and off to save power;
● Supports embedded DCN network connectivity and, within the DCN network, enables STP protocol support for multi-gateway protection.
